Hello Style Gawkers!
We all know that I’m obsessed with the 90s right now, and wish I was a 90s girl. This means that a lot of my current inspirations and pop culture favorites are either inspired by the 90s, or from the 90s. I’ve heard references to and about Clueless all over the internet, so when it popped up on Netflix I just had to give it a watch. Now I’m just a little bit obsessed, and a lot a bit inspired by Cher Horowitz. In fact, matching co-ords are probably my favorite thing right now.
P.S. I had just a little bit of fun with the editing of the featured image, just a little. I mean, the movie does take place in a 90s high school, so yearbook filters, and class cutouts were needed, right?
What I Wore: PETITE Velvet Crop High Neck Top ($21 @ ASOS)//Fashion Union Mini Skirt in Brushed Check ($12.50 @ ASOS)//White Platform Sandals with Gold Straps ($25 @ Target)//Pink Mini Laptop Necklace – Unknown///Pom-Pom Sunglasses (DIY)//Pom-Pom Headband (DIY)
This may be one of my favorite outfits ever. It features some new pieces, so I was pretty much unlimited in the pieces I chose to wear. It’s a little bit bold, and a little bit daring, which I think that I actually like. It sort of reminds me of a toned-down Susie Bubble outfit, (in terms of accessories) and that’s always a plus.
There’s definitely a lot going on in this OOTD! My favorite part would have to be the pairing of the brushed check mini skirt with the high neck crop top. The colors match really well, plus the high neck gives you a little bit of a 90s vibe. The ensemble is for chillier days, (because of the thick fabrics),and I think that black knee high socks would definitely help with that.

While the clothes are the main parts of this OOTD, I definitely think the accessories look pretty great too. I was only Clueless inspired, so I did add my own touch with a few DIYs, regardless of whether or not they fit the movie. Just last weekend I made these summer cute matching pom-pom accessories that I couldn’t wait to debut on the blog. They’re both so colorful, and youthful; definitely my style.

Ahhhh…. Platform sandals. Quite possibly the best style of shoes on the planet. Well, besides Dr. Martens. I think platform sandals were a bit of a trend during the 90s, but correct me if I’m wrong. Either way, I though tthey matched this outfit perfectly. Sadly, I don’t have any Mary Janes like Cher, but these will have to do.

Lastly, the necklaces. These and flower crowns are all I sort of accessorize with at the moment, but hopefully that’ll change in the summer. Necklaces are just so simple, and easy, and don’t bother me the way big rings and bracelets do. I thought the laptop necklace was just a quirky little piece to tie the school element together I threw on in the spur of the moment. It was something I hadn’t worn in a while, so I just had to.
Well that’s all! Hopefully you liked a bit of odd editing. And the movie Clueless. Do you? Let me know in the comments below. And if you haven’t watched Clueless, you better get on it.
