As my style seems to be ever evolving, I thought it would be interesting to gather my thoughts a bit, and try to define my inspirations and aesthetics every month or so. It helps to explain any personal style posts, lookbooks, or just my general outlook on fashion at that moment, later on. I also believe that it’s just nice to have a source of inspiration and a place to turn to if you’re in a creative rut. Whatever the case may be, I hope you enjoy this moodboard of sorts. If you want to see more posts like this, perhaps even more often, then be sure to tell me in the comments, or on my social media (which can be found in the header ^^ and footer.

This month I find myself turning towards Tumblr for inspiration. Ever since I downloaded the app on my phone, I’ve been using it more as a reference for myself and my style, than an addition to my blog. Although I don’t think that just saying Tumblr is my source of inspiration, so perhaps I’ll explain a bit more. Recently I’ve been curating my Tumblr feed with images in mostly desaturated blues, blacks, grey, and whites, along with the occasional pastel pink or blue. Looking at it now, my feed probably looks a bit cliché, but the simplistic style really captures my attention, and those are the outfits, bloggers, and feeds I’ve been drawn to for the past few weeks.
In terms of beauty there’s really not much to say. I’m not much of a makeup wearer besides the occasional swipe of mascara and eyeshadow. Sometimes I’ll wear a bit of lipgloss but that’s about it. I have however, been quite interested in dying my hair. However I cannot see that happening because of the repercussions of bleaching it. That does not mean that I cannot admire silver hair from afar. I’ve also really liked the look of boxer braids these days, which makes me long for faster growing hair, as always.
Clothing wise I suppose my inspirations are quite simple. I picked up two pairs of Converse: a black low top, and a chambray-looking low top. Athleisure has also been a trend lately, and while I’m not that in love with it, I do like trainers, so I picked up a pair of those. Otherwise I mainly got blacks and navy blues for shirts (especially ringer tees), and a pastel pink one as well. I’ve been preparing for summer as well so I have already purchased some shirts, mainly denim, but also some interesting faux leather black ones, and a few grey pairs.

Art wise I really want to do some photography, both styled fashion photos, and summer “iPhoneography.” I’ve got this camera I should probably use more, and I sort of want an Instax mini. I don’t know about that though because I’d really prefer the Polaroid photo printer, so that every shot can be my best one, and so that I’m not wasting film. However, there’s just something about spur-of-the-moment shots, a when you get them just right. I do suppose that I have a style of photography, because I’ve been slowly but surely creating a theme on Instagram. I also really want to get a photo book from Artifact Uprising printed after the summer.
So tell me. What are you inspired by this month? What have you been wearing or eyeing lately? Do you have any projects or hobbies that you want to take up? Let me know in the comments, and we can chat.
