We all have them… Those five pieces in our closet that we can’t help but wear over, and over, and over again. Since I’ve been doing a little bit of shopping for the summer season, my favorite pieces have changed a little bit. They’ve sort of become essentials. Sometimes when I go shopping I’m sort of at a loss for what to get, so maybe some of my favorite pieces will provide a sort of inspiration.
P.S. This is my first post with my DSLR camera. What do you think?
Essential #1: Midi Skirt
ASOS
A few days ago I did a bit of a convincing post about why you need a midi skirt, specifically for the summer. So maybe you could tell that midi skirts are a little bit of an essential for me. I’ll let you read the post to get the gist of why I love them so much, but mainly, I love them because of their versatility. You can pair them with almost anything, effortlessly, and still look pretty well put together.
Essential #2: Button Front Swing Dress
ASOS
This is another one of those effortless pieces. It’s pretty simple in concept, but it can be paired with almost anything and everything. Even alone, this looks great. I specifically like the way that it buttons down the front; it reminds me of the 70s suede skirts. I’d been looking for shift dresses, and even though this isn’t a typical shift dress, I still like it. It also really reminds me of something my favorite bloggers would wear, and that’s always a plus.
Essential #3: DIY Sunglasses
I’ve always loved Spangled sunglasses, well ever since I found out about them. However, the price is a bit of a turnoff, so I’m working on a DIY version. Until then, I’ve been enjoying these other DIY sunglasses that I’ve made. One is a bit more edgy, and grown-up, while the other is fun a childish. Both cost me little to nothing, yet look nothing like what I was finding in stores.
Essential #4: Gold Thick Strap Sandals
Target
This is another one of those effortless pieces. I personally prefer flip flops over sandals, because I find them more comfortable. However, these shoes seem to be the perfect combination of flip flops and sandals. They’re pretty simple, but they look really classy for flip flops. I would have to say that these look like a variation on Birkenstocks, but I do prefer these to the original shoes.
Essential #5: Pink and Purple Floral Crown
Charlotte Russe
Anyone who has been reading this here very blog even for the shortest of time must know that I’m quite obsessed with flower crowns. They’re slowly taking over my dresser. The majority of my flower crowns are DIY-ed, but whenever I find an inexpensive, pretty one in stores, I can’t resist. That’s the sole reason I have this, not because I need it, but because I have little to no self control when it comes to flower crowns.
